Here's our new house!

We're very excited about our new house and eager to share it with friends and family.  So we've created this "virtual guided tour".  We want to show off before's and afters of painting, decorating and any renovations that we plan.

I really can't describe what it was that drew me to this house.  It's so full of charm and is just....cozy.  It's smallish, and the kitchen requires stepping out to change your mind about anything.  I'd have to say that the garage and the fact that the basement is not only extremely functional but open and well lit was the biggest selling point.

Almost every basement of every other house we've viewed was dark, dank, scary, moldy, smelly and at least an inch of water in it (one had 5 and a half feet of water in it.)  This basement is dry, bright, clean, clear, not smelly and can be easily finished for a comfortable rec-room.   The upstairs can stay clear of junk and debris and the mess can stay out of sight downstairs.

Vital Statistics

Style of house: 1-story
Date built: 1929
Number of rooms: 6 (2 bedrooms) upstairs
Size: 1032 up (1032 functional basement) total of 2064 square feet.
History:  We will be only the 3rd owners of this house since it was built.  The previous owner bought it (from the man who had it built) for his son and family to live in.  Since his family has since expanded while living there, they are in need of more room.  Lucky us!

Papers signed: April 9, 2008.  Can't beat a birthday present like this.  And it's just want I wanted too!
